Announcing the first-ever Riff Space™ Book Club, where we will explore “No Bad Parts: Healing Trauma and Restoring Wholeness with the Internal Family Systems Model.” This new book, written by the creator of the Internal Family Systems Model, Richard Schwartz, lets us access the best ways to identify all the parts of us that are struggling to get our attention so we can heal them and lead our lives from the truth of who we really are.
This four-session book club will be a deep dive into the concepts and tools for identifying, tending, and befriending the annoying parts of us that are working hard to protect us and to manage our emotional exposure. These protective parts have taken on roles they were never meant to tackle, like the critic, the hyper-achiever, the pleaser, the avoider, the victim, the controller.
You’ll learn methods for interacting with all your parts, and begin to focus on becoming Self-led as you integrate your parts and teach them how to work together to create the life of ease and joy you’ve been longing for.
Dates: Tuesdays, September 13- October 4, 2022
Registration and more details coming soon!
When sacred and irreverent collide:
One of my favourite places to be is at the intersection of the irreverent and the sacred. I love diving into the deep things of life, and I love splashing around in the shallows. I take seriously the business of living with purpose, while acknowledging that I had better be having fun doing it. And when I can do all of this with other people? Be still my heart.
For the past two years, I have been meeting with two loving and brilliant coaches, Amy Steindler and Leah Pellegrini (meet them below), in just such a space. We regularly jump on a zoom call, and we invite our challenges, triumphs, and curiosities to join us there. We represent a mix of ages, as well as stages in our coaching careers. We learn from each other (we frequently nerd out in the realms of neuroscience and spirituality). We inspire, coach, and gently challenge each other. We laugh, we cry (mostly me), we cuss (also mostly me), we bond. We easily spot the brilliance in each other when we don’t always spot it in ourselves.
I can tell you this: my life (both personally and professionally) has gotten better because of the time I have spent in this space, with these humans.
The Riff Space™—this irreverent and sacred community of practice—is now open to the public.
The Riff Space™ might be for you if:
~ you are a coach, creative entrepreneur, heart-centred leader, or service-oriented human
~ you could use a nudge, whether professionally or personally
~ you crave a safe space to work out your big ideas
~ you long for creative collaboration
~ you would like to get out of your own damn way and go for it already
The inaugural Riff Space™ cohort has wrapped. Stay tuned for the annoucement of the next cohort dates.
What participants have said about The Riff Space™:
"This felt like a master class in self-awareness...I have already recommended Riff to friends...it's a great way to learn some tools to help you get to know yourself better and to frame a healthy narrative around what's important to you in life."
- Christina Croll, Virginia
"The Riff Space was my every other Tuesday exhale. The connection led by three amazing coaches, allowed me to get clear on my values while creating space to listen, learn, be, and well... to Riff (unfiltered with a splash of curiosity). If you are ready to connect with other amazing humans in a small group setting and stretch yourself - this may be the right space for you."
- Helen Y., Annapolis
"The Riff Space is fun, unique, insightful, innovative, a safe space to speak, a chance to grow in your own journey while learning many tools and techniques along the way! Highly recommend it and you will grow in many areas. Just bring your open mind and self to discover the best version of you!"
- Jane C., Canada
Listen. We get it. Life can be hard. Discovering a deep sense of purpose can take time. Doing meaningful work while trying to pay the bills can be...well, kinda gross. The good news? You're not alone. We've been there. And we're better together. If you could use a big boost, we've got you. Come riff with us!
We believe in paying it forward. $25 of your monthly fee goes toward sponsoring a scholarship for someone whose economic situation shouldn’t stand in the way of their learning, growth, and income potential. If you’d like to have a bigger impact, you can add to your monthly payment and 100% of that additional amount will go toward funding scholarships. The Riff Space™ is committed to bringing a broad range of perspectives to these conversations, with the intentional inclusion of BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and economically disadvantaged participants.
